Pratap Pothen no more
Renowned South Indian actor and filmmaker Pratap Pothen passed away at the age of 70. The actor who is known for his work in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films died at his residence in Chennai on Friday. Pothen made his acting debut with the Malayalam film Aaravam directed by legendary filmmaker Bharathan. His directorial debut Meendum Oru Kathal Kathai fetched him the national award for debut director. He was last seen in the Malayalam film CBI 5: The Brain.

Channing Tatum replaces Chris Evans in Project Artemis
Channing Tatum has replaced Chris Evans in Apple’s space thriller Project Artemis. Evans backed out of the project due to prior commitments. Project Artemis which also features Scarlett Johansson will be directed by Greg Berlanti, popular for helming DC Comics’ popular Arrowverse TV shows on the CW Network Jason Bateman, whose directorial credits include the Emmy-winning series Ozark, was initially attached to direct the film.
Natalie Dormer to play Dr. Audrey Evans
Game of Thrones alum Natalie Dormer will essay the lead role in Audrey's Children, a film based on renowned children's oncologist Dr Audrey Evans. Texas Killing Fields director Ami Canaan Mann will helm the film written by Emmy-nominated producer and writer Julia Fisher Farbman. The film will trace the extraordinary life and career of Evans who co-founded Ronald McDonald House Charities, an organization that supports millions of families across the globe.
The cast of The Deliverance gets bigger
Omar Epps, Demi Singleton, Miss Lawrence and Anthony B. Jenkins have been added to the cast of the upcoming Netflix film, The Deliverance. The United States vs. Billie Holiday director Lee Daniels will direct the film which also stars Andra Day, Glenn Close, Mo’Nique, Aunjanue Ellis, Caleb McLaughlin, and Tasha Smith. The film revolves around a woman who must fight for her life and protect her children after discovering the presence of an evil force in her new house.
